Harpursville CSD Athlete of the Month

100.5 The Drive and Farmers Insurance Agent Kristy McWherter are proud to recognize some of the outstanding athletes and students of Harpursville CSD.

Congratulations to these Athletes of the Month!

Morgan Flemming

Morgan has been on the Varsity Field hockey team for 4 years.  She has been a team captain for the past 2 years and has helped lead her team to a 13-3-1 record so far this season.  As of today she has recorded 4 goals and 4 assists.

Morgan plays as a midfielder but also has been asked to play defense when needed.  She does whatever is asked of her without hesitating to question you.  She has great speed and stickwork and she has taken on the role of helping her younger teammates to help them improve on their skills.  Morgan has worked hard during and in the off season to improve herself.

Morgan is taking several college courses to help her get ready for college after she graduates.  She plans on playing field hockey in college and will be a tremendous asset wherever she decides to go.

Brandon Hoover

Brandon was a captain this season for the Varsity soccer team. He was a leader both on and off the field. During practices he was leading drills and warmups to help motivate the other members of the team. When something negative arose, he was always prompt to cut it off before it caused any problems. During the games, he would be used in various situations to neutralize a team’s top player. This put tremendous pressure on Brandon and he was always up to the challenge.

Sarah Peterson

Sarah has been on the Varsity Field Hockey Team for 5 years now.  She has helped lead her team to an 8-2-1 record so far this season.  She also was named to the All-tournament team in the Sidney Legends Tournament while helping her team win the tournament championship.  She has tallied 7 goals and 5 assists this season.

Sarah plays in the midfield position which is one of the toughest positions to play in field hockey.  She never stops moving and is our catalyst on the field.  Each year she has improved on her skills and is always looking to improve herself.

Sarah is a team captain and always come to practice ready to work hard and with a great attitude.   She helps her teammates work on skills and is always encouraging them.  She is willing to do whatever is asked of her without question while always having a smile on her face.  On the field she plays with a lot of heart and does those little things that are unselfish and makes the players around her better.  She has worked hard to get where she is at by playing in the off season and wants to go on and play at the collegiate level.

Sarah is in the top of her class and is a leader both on and off the field.  She can be relied on to help take control of situations when asked of her.

Riley Livermore

Riley often reminds team mates of their duties to the team in a constructive way and helps to hold them accountable when instruction is given. While he has played in the goal before, this is his first real year of playing the position on a full time basis and is a good candidate for being a league all star due to the hard work he shows during the game.
