No More "Weed Tree" at Walmart

An unusual holiday decoration – a “Weed Marijuana Leaf Christmas Tree” – was pulled from Walmart’s website just hours after going viral. The 7-foot tall fake Christmas tree, which bears branches covered in faux marijuana leaves, was being sold for $250 on the retail giant’s website before being pulled Wednesday afternoon. Walmart did not reveal the reason for the item, which was sold and shipped by third-party novelty company Brands On Sale Inc., being removed from the website, but the action came after marijuana news website Cannabist caused the tree to go viral.

The product’s description formerly read: “This Pot Leaf Christmas tree will ‘light up’ the room and put your mind in the right head-space for holiday cheer. You’ll be able to relax and giggle at the marijuana leaves and decorate it as you please. This alternative Christmas tree is perfect for personal top shelf life at home or as a medical dispensary decoration. Green Wishes and Happy Holidhaze!”

I'm pretty bummed. Not that I had $250 to spend on a Christmas tree. But I was hoping to get one from Santa this year. :(
